Pregnancy Journal: 36+ weeks

Woke up this morning to my good ol' friend, my weighing scale - and she tells me that I've officially reached my 10kg (22pound) mark. Pre-pregnancy weight was 52kg. I suppose I'm on track with weight gain. The gynae says this is a good weight so that it doesn't cause unncessary pressure on our already looser joints and ligaments.

A few more weeks to go now. Hopefully I don't go beyond 40 weeks as it's starting to get heavy.

Right now, I'm at a point where I can't wait for all this to be over, for you to be out of my belly and into the world (though I've been told repeatedly that that's when my nightmares will actually start!).

I can feel it's getting crowded in there for you baby. :) Your kicks have now been progressed to swipes across my entire belly. At one point, you were stretching in all 3 directions (left, right and top) simultaneously! It was an amazing experience for mommy.

The last time I caught a glimpse of your face on the ultrasound last week, you had sausage lips! like daddy's :)  though the gynae reckons it's more like mine. but who cares, it's cute all the same. you were forming "O"s with your mouth during that ultrasound, it was the funniest thing to catch on screen! pity daddy wasn't there to see it too.

As it were, you weighed in at 2.5kg last week (during our 35+ week checkup), which Dr. Cheng says is a healthy weight - not too big, and not too small. :)

While we had initially settled your name to be Adrianna a few months back, now Daddy's not so sure. He's still deliberating on that, so at the moment, you're still nameless :) maybe Lauren, or Kristianna...
