Stumbled upon this link which I thought would be helpful to pregnant women out there. I thought this was particularly useful for me as my appetite has definitely increased at least two-fold (though no consistent cravings). I was in search for ideas on how to maintain a healthy diet and taking in meaningful carbs, calories and fibre to last me through the day. I am definitely eating more frequently, every 2-3 hours during the day. But usually no snacking after dinner (not that I've had to resist the urge to).
I'm 33 weeks now and currently weigh at 60kg from my original weight at 52kg. I'm told my belly size and weight may increase as I'm approaching the end of my 40weeks.
I've found that snacking on tuna, corn chips with a little dressing on the side helps stave my hunger. Also, grilling about 10-15 pieces of lightly marinated chicken fillets and storing them away for snacktime is quite gratifying (while this option is not entirely fat-free, it is definitely low-fat and so yummy). Weetbix cereal with a drizzle of honey is also now my favourite breakfast. Plus making fruit shakes (with or without milk) to drink through the day is helpful too.
On occasion, I have an indulgent meal (like last night) - we had pasta, pizza, fried chicken, truffle fries. All the unhealthy stuff, which now I feel slightly guilty for. :|
