Lauren.. u're driving me nuts. what is going to happen to my marriage??

It's 2am in Singapore and I should definitely be sleeping as I have a client appointment in 10 hours at home and I haven't prepared anything.

I can't sleep cuz' my head is full of the following:

Husband & I have just finished what seemed like a holiday in Melbourne (though it definitely didn't feel like that for neither of us). Situation: no maid (yes, we're used to a maid Mon - Fri 8am - 3pm). Hours outside of this, I will take care of my daughter. So, we fly to Melbourne, the 3 of us (husband, wife & baby who is 10 months old). Nearing the end of the 10day trip, husband tells me: "dear, we are not doing this a 2nd time. it is not a holiday. she (meaning my daughter) refuses to give me a break!!!!:

For this who are don't know, i run my own business  - i am able to take days off and be at home (mainly tues & thurs) to bring her to classes or stay at home and be with her. otherwise, i'm in the office. on mon, wed, fri, i see my daughter only from 6pm onwards. on Fri though, my husband and i try to have a couple's night whenever we can.

so, my question is: my mother (who is living i melbourne) says that we're spoilt (as parents), as we have a maid to help us take care of lauren. hence, we should be not be complaining, no matter what.

frankly i find it difficult to keep a marital relationship alive with a kid (although i know that with only 1, i should still be able to keep it together!! but i find it difficult!!).. Any thoughts anyone? With only 1, she is already very 'clingy'. she can walk/run already at 10 months. so the moment i place her on the floor with her 2 feet, she starts whining. I can't even straighten my back after placing her on the floor, before she starts whining. It's crazy!

  1. It's statistically proven that babies ARE bad for marriages, but once you weather that short storm, the marriage comes out even stronger, and I can attest to that :)

"This too, shall pass" is the oft well used adage when it comes to anything kid-related, although it's annoying to hear when you're going through a rough patch. All the best!!
