I must note this down before I forget

To: My baby

You are blossoming in ways unknown to yourself. You started crawling at 6.5months, standing steadily at 8 months and started walking at 9.5months. In fact, when you took your first steps, Mommy was away for work. Ah Kong had to send us a video of you walking. This was sometime late february, Mommy was in Bangkok.

My friends with children who are 12 - 14months old tell me that their babies are not walking yet. And they are envious that you are walking already. I can't disagree. While I'm happy that you've found your newfound mobility early, I must tell you that you're making Mommy more tired that ever.



You at Ah Ma's place in mid-April 2014, when you were about 10months old. 

You have been successfully weaned completely off your pacifier - I can't remember exactly when. But it was around February (right about the same time when you started walking). Those sleepless nights you and me spent fighting each other in the middle of the night (you crying for your pacifier and me losing my patience with you), it will be memories for many years to come.

Now I worry somewhat about which primary school you will get into. While I generally take a laissez faire approach in these things (because frankly Mommy wasn't great in school, so how can I expect you to?), with such a competitive environment in Singapore, I can't help but worry.

Your first birthday is coming this 15 May - this is about 3 weeks away. Mommy & Papi have not planned anything for you. Mostly because we know you will be too young to remember what happened. But just know that we love you very much (no matter how time-consuming and irritating you are)
